Was driving by at low tide and noticed the beach was littered with white spots. Got out to investigate and -yes- they were oysters. Tried one:
At first it was very salty and very "seafood" flavored. This then melted away into butter. After, the oyster stayed on my palate for a while - till I ate something else.
Not sure I liked it but it was probably pretty good. In any case, it sets a memorable standard.
Wisdom eventually sets in and points out that this is a boat launch. No, it is not a good place to eat shellfish.
