Sunflowers

Always seems as if the potential is prettier than the actual

It is hard doing sunflowers, which are magnificent, without being imitative.

This digital photo is better than the original because it is luminous. The original is overpainted and dark.

My method

I have not come to grips with using paints outdoors. So I sketch, then try to memorize the colors. I take a photo, which I try not to rely on but which I occasionally use for a missing detail or a color.

I cannot tell if this is any good. The idea is to convey a "sun kissed" moment.
